IIT Kharagpur is planning to set-up a Happness centre.  This was shared by the Government in the Lok Sabha earlier this week. The initiative started by its alumnus Satinder Rekhi will be called Rekhi Centre for Science and Happiness. "The upcoming centre is a unique initiative that will research and teach practical ideas based on the Science of Happiness and Positive Psychology and help develop an eco-system of happy and successful KGPians", said Rekhi.

In this regard IIT Kharagpur proposes to introduce courses for the UG and PG students besides offering training programmes and certificate courses. It has already announced a "Short Term Course on Human Happiness, Health and Flourinshing" which is scheduled to commence on 19th August from their campus. This short term program is open for any graduate, post-graduate from academics, industry NGO etc.
